Nokia N86 review

http://noknok.tv/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/nokia-n86-8mp-indigo_01.jpg

Photography has been brought to the forefront with fabulous Nokia N86 slider mobile phone, with an 8 mega-pixel camera feature, a wide-angle Carl Zeiss lens, a dual LED flash and a fast shutter for reduced motion blur. The N86 really does pack a punch and take superb quality digital photo's that it can only be compared to that of a stand alone digital camera. Whilst we are excited about the N86 8Mp camera abilities lets not forget that Samsung have beaten Nokia with regards to an 8 mega-pixel camera mobile phone a while ago now. Recording digital video images is just as simple and are of the highest quality in all light conditions at fantastic 30 frames per second. Operating this marvellous camera function is simple to get grips with for any novice. If photography really isn't your forte then the Nokia N86 is not for you.

What we know for sure is that Nokia N86 mobile phone is a slide design handset with dimensions of 103.4mm x 51.4mm x 16.5mm with a hefty weight of 149g but when you consider how much technology has been packed into the N86 it is a fair weight. The Nokia N86 comes in a choice of two colour options which include Black and White and comprises a large and very bright 2.6 inch OLED scratch resistant display screen displaying up to 16 million colours with screen resolutions of 240 x 320 pixels, and with 8 gigabytes of on-board memory providing a vast amount storage space but this can be increased massively with a 16GB MicroSD memory card. All the detailing of the metal frame of the N86 makes this handset a very attractive mobile phone. Call time available on the N86 is up to 6.3 hours and a stan-by time of up to 312 hours or up to a massive 25 hours of music play back time with a full charge up of the N86 battery.

There are some other fantastic features on the Nokia N86 other than the already mentioned brilliant 8 mega-pixel camera feature. There is a built-in music player system with dedicated music keys which supports MP3-MP4-eAAC+-WMA music file formats plus an FM Radio with RDS technology and an FM transmitter. Music can be enjoyed through the built-in stereo speakers or the Bluetooth stereo headset. Customising the N86 with a ring-tone is so straight forward and the user can choose from the available MP3 or Polyphonic ring-tones or downloaded tunes. The user can really build up a fantastic music collection from the Nokia Music Store where there are million of tunes available.

Connecting to the internet via the Nokia N86 is possible as the handset supports WAP 2.0 XHTML and HTNL web browsing technologies also with the inclusion of the EDGE technology Class 32,296 / 177.6 kbits, 3G – HSDPA 3.6 Mbps and a Symbian OS S60 rel 3.2. connecting to other compatible devices is possible via the Micro USB and Bluetooth with A2DP technologies provided on the Nokia N86. The N86 operates on GSM-850/9001800/1900 & HSDPA-900/1900/2100 supported networks.

For other entertainment purposes the user can enjoy the Java MIDP 2.1 gaming facilities presented on the Nokia N86 mobile phone, especially with the N-Gage motion gaming feature which takes the gaming experience to a whole new level of fun and entertainment.

In terms of applications the user can enjoy built-in GPS, aGPS function, a Voice Memo along with many many more useful tools to provide a more organised lifestyle. There is a kick-stand at the back of the handset to make viewing recorded video clips a more enjoyable pleasure, its a little added feature like this thats adds more desirable effect to the handset.

Keeping in contact with others with the messaging services available on the Nokia N86 is simple and easy, the services supplied include SMS, MMS (multi-media messaging) and of course Emailing.

Keep an eye out for the Nokia N86 as we believe this mobile phone is going to be a big hit!!!

Nokia N85 in black - new color from Orange

The N-Gage blog recently posted a quizzical post, that really made no sense at all. But after looking at the Picture posted and checking around a bit:

As you can see, the N85 pictured is in a totally different color scheme than the standard model, and the text that accompanies the image clearly states “Nokia N85 in Black, Only on Orange“. Keep in mind, this is NOT the upcoming N86, you can tell by the keys.

Nokia 5800 Xpress firmware update to version 20.0.012

The 5800 does have UDP (User Data Preservation), so while its always a good idea to backup all your data before the firmware update, none of your programs or data should be affected with the update.

There’s no actual changelog out yet, but I’ve noticed that screen rotation and overall operation is a bit faster. You can also activate and use the front camera at any time now. There’s also now (finally) Photo AND Video Geo-Tagging support.

Picture and Video quality seem to be slightly improved. There’s new Icons for the Music Folder, Download! and Podcasting Applications among others too. Another noticeable thing is there’s a new “Application running” icon to let you know if a certain application in the menu is still open in the background. No doubt a couple bugs have been fixed in this update too.

http://www.techchee.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/nokia-e75-a-phone-for-texters-450x316.jpg

The Nokia E75 is the latest Nokia Smartphone is rumoured to be announced at the mobile world congress. There have been pictures of what is thought to be the E75 leaked onto the internet it looks like a candy style phone with QWERTY keyboard and with a glossy black casing.

Nokia have created the E75 and the E72, which is also rumoured to be announced, as business phones Quiet like the blackberry. Nokia's E45 has a 2.4 inch screen with 320 x 240 pixel resolutions it has a slide out QWERTY key board so you can type texts or emails more easily. If you want to stay in touch with your business by email or internet then the E75 is rumoured to have Nokia web browsing, WI FI, GPRS and HSDPA all of which will help you get speedy connection to the internet. Another great business tool would be the office document viewer, allowing you to view or send work documents instantly and a dedicated email key to sent messages with ease. You won't get lost on your way to a meeting with the AGPS and Nokia maps rumoured to be built in so you can keep one step ahead.

Keep in touch with message formats which could include SMS, MMS, Email, IM and text-to-speech reader. Don't miss a call as the Nokia E75 should cover quad-band GSM850/900/1800/1900 and dual-band WCDMA900/2100 so you should be able to use your phone in most countries. Some other great features rumoured to be on the Nokia E75 are a 3.2 mega pixel camera with auto focus, LED flash and digital zoom, as well as a video recorder with Hi-resolution VGA and video streaming. If you like to listen to music when you travel there should be a Music player supporting formats such as MP3 and AAC as well as FM radio, Nokia podcast and windows media player. Customise Nokia E75 with a ringtone with polyphonic, MP3 or even video or talking ringtones. There are also some great application tools such as dual mode that lets you change between personal and work emails and you can have two home screens one for business and one for pleasure.

Well we at mobilefonereviews think if the Nokia E75 has all these rumoured specifications and more it will be a great business tool even though the QWERTY keyboard does look a bit cramped. The price is rumoured to be around £400 to £600 so we will just have to wait and see what happens at the mobile world congress.
